Course Requirement :  The course requires a working knowledge of C. Almost all lectures have some C in them, and text book uses it to illustrate the concepts.

 

Course Outline :  This course covers machine organization including details of individual units and their interaction with each other. The course includes machine and assembly language concepts, data representation and management of data and control flow in a computer, from a programmer's perspective.
 

Academic Honesty : Please read the University of Chicago  Academic Honesty policy. Discussion of homework with other students is permitted, as long as it is explicitly acknowledged. However, students are expected to arrive at solutions independently (if two homeworks are too similar, even with acknowledgement of discussion, both students could lose the grade).
