Hey everyone!

I just went to my local newspaper store and saw the british issue of GQ
magazine. To my big surprise, it was written Matt Johnson on the cover!
Inside, there's a very nice photograph of Matt (new career as a model
maybe?), with a few lines written about his visions of england.
Good to finally see (and read from) him. After all this time, a proof that
he's still alive and well.

Bye!
Marie

Hi -

The Infected book, the rare, out-of-print, and super-cool book of the
The's music (including sheet music and lyrics) and Andy Johnson's art
is now on the web, thanks to the phenomenally wonderful, incredibly
hard working, and terrific dedication of "scanmaster" Yvo van Vliet
.

Stop on by and see the book in its 122 page entirety at:

http://bcx.ind.wpi.edu/the_The

The book long and the graphics are rich, so I'd recommend visiting
the site with some free time in front of you, a graphics display
of 1024x768 or more, and some the The playing in the background of
course (and if you don't have any music with you, just bring your RealAudio
plug-in and we can supply the music).

As always, hello to all Matt's/the The's other fans out there...

Take care.

Ok, I'm pretty new to this list and I just have one little question for
right now. Since Christmas is coming up, I'm wondering what exactly are
MJ's religious beliefs? Is he an atheist? A Christian? I know he
mentions God in a few of his songs, but I'm curious as to what he
thinks on the subject of God. Anyone have any interviews where he talks
about the subject?

Thanks! -Michelle

Did Matt Johnson fairly recently collaborate on an album/cd (British) by a
band
named ORANG, comprised of former "Talk Talk" members. I recently heard
about this and can't find the disc anywhere to verify it. Let me know.

Craig,
You are correct, the cd is "Herd of Instinct". Matt plays keyboard on tracks
5 and 6, i think. It is a UK import.

As a rather infrequent poster on infected I have perusing the cross
fire on "ORANG." My question is: In anyone's subjective opinion, how
good is it? I love Talk Talk's earlier albums. This would seem to
be a perfect combination of artists for my musical taste!

Come on guys(and girls,) Does it Suck, or what????????

Sure bet is that if it is $28.oo US it is $ 50.oo CDN !!!!!!

This is available as a rather expensive import from CDnow if anyone is
interested. I've ordered from them before, no complaints but they are a
little slow.

I don't thinkg Matt Johnson was involved with this project at all. I have
been looking for the album for a long time and have never seen it. As far as
I've been told it's just two members from Talk Talk.

THE THE, Recording Artists
THE THE was formed in 1979 by then 17-year old Matt Johnson. During an
online chat session in 1995 a participant
observed that the song "I Saw the Light" is a long way from "I ain't never
been to church or believed in Jesus Christ." He asked
Johnson how his religious feelings have changed over the years.

Johnson replied "I'm a born again agnostic!"
