The IFIP WG 2.8 annual meeting will be held at the Asilomar Conference Center from June 10 to 15. Asilomar is a California State Park as well as a conference center with aclaimed architecture by Julia Morgan of the Arts and Crafts school. It is located in the town of Pacific Grove, just south of Monterey and north of Pebble Beach and Carmel. Asilomar is 80 miles south of San Jose Airport and 110 miles south of San Francisco Airport, and there is a local Monterey Regional Airport. Information on travel to Asilomar, including airport shuttles, is available at Asilomar's "Getting Here" web page.
The meeting will start with dinner on Sunday, June 10, and end with lunch on Friday, June 15. An excursion to the Monterey Bay Aquarium is planned for Wednesday afternoon. The Monterey Acquarium is a 2.1 mile walk from the Conference Center by a direct route, or 4 to 5 miles via a trail along a beautiful stretch of coastline.
Single rooms with all meals included are $293.41 per day; double occupancy is $195.37 per person. Rooms can be reserved by contacting the Asilomar WG 2.8 registration page. The meeting registration fee will be $300, and it can be paid at the same web page mentioned above. Please register and reserve your room by May 11. After that date, Asilomar will release the rooms held for our meeting, so rooms may no longer be available. If there is some issue that prevents you registering before May 11, please contact Dave MacQueen.
You can use this google spreadsheet to add your travel plans and talk titles.
The meeting will start with a reception from 7pm to 9pm in our meeting room, named Kiln. The reception will include Mediterranean and Mexican snacks and an open bar.
Here is a list of some local restaurants that have been recommended to me.
Looking forward to seeing you in very soon at beautiful Asilomar beach.
