SciVis 2013 Project 3 Tips
Example code
(This will be expanded shortly ...)Check out phoen.py. Adjusting the idx variable at the top of the program, you can run python phoen.py to produce phoen0.svg, phoen1.svg, and phoen2.svg. These have the same basic structure as the similarly-named files in scivis-2012/data/orimg, but those files were written by hand, to demonstrate the underlying structure of an SVG file a clearly as possible.
Note that this program uses Python package svgwrite to generate the SVG. The documentation for svgwrite looks up-to-date. I was able to install svgwrite with easy_install. This pacakge saves you from having to worry about the details of SVG syntax and allows you to focus on the logical structure.
