General Information for Mathematics 273, Section 51
This course meets MWF at 12:30 in Eckhart 203
Grading principles: Problem sets will count 20%, the midterm 26.7%
and the final 53.3%

Problem sets are assigned Wednesdays and due the following
Wednesday, either in class or (by 5PM) in Claire Tomesch's box
in the basement of Eckhart Hall. Graded problems can be picked
up there as well, by 5PM on Mondays.

Office hours for Norman Lebovitz during finals week: Wednesday
11AM-1PM and again 4-6PM, Thursday 1-3PM; in Ry
359a
Office hours for Claire Tomesch: Monday at 3-5PM
in Math-Stat 103

Material to be covered
We will cover most of Chapters 1-6. These are the basics. We will then do as much as we
can of one of two subjects: boundary-value problems
(see Chapters 10 and 11) or dynamical-systems theory (see
Chapters 7 and 8).
