Research Interests
A better understanding of document content and relations between different pieces of information is one of the main goals of natural language processing. My research interest is in extracting semantic information from text using machine learning techniques. Machine learning provides well-motivated and efficient solutions which often have an elegant linguistic interpretation. I am particularly interested in using dimensionality reduction and graph-based machine learning algorithms to extract semantic relations between words and documents.I am also involved in the unsupervised grammar learning project within the
Linguistica Group at our department. I am working on using learning with structural output to include morphological information for induction of syntactic categories. Here is my Research Statement pdf
