Artificial Intelligence

How does the mind/brain work? Can we provide computational or mathematical characterizations of the various various procedures that make intelligent behavior possible? Can we replicate aspects of living intelligence in an artificial machine? The very nature of these questions make Artificial Intelligence an inherently multi-disciplinary effort. This is particularly so at Chicago.

Faculty in several departments work in areas that make strong contact with computational issues in cognitive and neural systems.
