Workshop: "Theory and Practice of Computational Learning" |
![]() Created by Dinoj Surendran |
Mikhail Belkin from Ohio State University, Partha Niyogi from the University of Chicago and Stephen Smale from Toyota Technical Institute at Chicago have organized a ten day summer school and research workshop to be held in the International House located at 1414 E. 59th Street, Chicago, Illinois. There will be tutorials and lectures in the morning session and research talks in the afternoon sessions. This summer school and research workshop is open to students, faculty and research professionals associated with universities or industry.
We are planning a summer school and research workshop on theory and practice of computational learning with a mix of tutorial lectures and research talks. We hope the workshop will help stimulate intellectual exchanges between computer scientists, statisticians, and mathematicians as we explore theoretical foundations, design and analysis of algorithms, and the interface of learning theory and practice with science and engineering.
Organized by Mikhail Belkin (mbelkin@cse.ohio-state.edu) Partha Niyogi (niyogi@cs.uchicago.edu) and Steve Smale (smale@tti-c.org).
Supported by The National Science Foundation.
Please address questions to Nita Yack (nitayack@cs.uchicago.edu) or Katie Casey (caseyk@cs.uchicago.edu).
