I presented this talk at the Midwest Faculty Seminar institute on ``Computer Cultures,'' 1-3 March 2001.
I presented an earlier version at Professors and Publishing in the Electronic Academy, a conference sponsored by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Library, 17-19 September 1996.
In this talk, I describe some of my experiences as an editor and as a teacher in cyberspace. I offer these experiences as examples of the way that scholars may identify and choose between the many alternatives that confront us during the creation of cyberspace.
