Duruflé, Maurice (1902-1986)

Maurice Duruflé was primarily an organist who taught at the Paris conservatory, and gave organ recitals throughout Europe. The Requiem is generally considered to be his masterpiece.

Notes The recordings of this Requiem are numerous: traditionally it is coupled with the Fauré Requiem. Duruflé left three versions of his Requiem: one for chorus and organ, one for chamber orchestra and chorus, and one for full orchestra and chorus.
