Solving PDE's with the FEniCS Project software
"I find it really helpful. Part of my research is to solve nonlinear PDEs using FEM and this course covered much more than what I was expecting to learn prior to attend the course. Both instructors, Professor Ridgeway Scott and Patrick Farrell were really helpful and very friendly and I feel that I've learnt a lot!"
"I really enjoyed taking this course. I found that after a few exercises, coding python scripts for FEniCS wasn't that bad. The marriage of theory and practical sessions really helped smooth out my understanding of FEniCS and how to write each script. Without the theory, I feel like this course would have been a shell where I would be able to implement the code, but would not have a great understanding of what I was writing. After taking this course, I feel confident that I could solve PDE's with FEniCS (depending on the complexity and after 1000 or more Wikipedia searches) with the knowledge I accumulated this past week. I would highly recommend this course to others and FEniCS in general. Both professors fostered an amicable environment, and I now feel as if I can come to them with anything, even after the course has ended. Thank you so much for your time and effort in the course. Without your energy to feed off of, this would have been a lot harder to follow along, and get excited about."
