That's what Ted Pollari is all about. The Body-Mind-
Soul-Thing? Just what is the The Body-Mind-Soul-Thing? If I were to
Describe myself, I could be broken up into smaller parts...that is
My Body, My Mind, and My Soul. Each has it's own qualities,
characteristics and quirks. Some things overlap. Others Don't.
It isn't concrete because, well, neither am I.
Flow with it and follow the text below to see what I am all about.
The Body
is the first thing that anyone thinks of when identity is the question. It's a physical,
locative, descriptive, qualitative kinda thing. It's all about where you've been, where you're
going and where you are now. Now than, here are a few quick-qualitative-historically-autobiographical
bits about me that may just have to tide you over until you meet me in person!
- I hail from the great state of Minnesota , St. Paul
to be specific. Where I'll be headed next, I have no clue. To be perfectly honest, most of the time I think
I'm from somewhere out past left field as much as I am from any place...but that's a whole different story!
- But my current physical locality..In case you have need of the knowledge is:
5824 S. Kimbark Ave, #2202
Chicago, Il
60637
- If the U.S. Postal Service is either too well armed or just too plain slow for your tastes,
you can get my attention even faster by email (find it if you want it, as the spammers already have...)
- HEY! Are you in a real hurry to talk to me?
Send me a page!
The Mind
is a big part of what makes us who we are; you, me, and the rest of the world. The soul has a role in that matter but the mind is what motivates and drives us. My mind holds my opinions, my questions, my likes, dislikes and my
conciousness on top of it all. It is really what I think of first when I think of the idea of my identity.
- Exercise. My mind stretches, pulls itself up and runs mile after mile almost every day. Classes are what I am
driving at here. Currently I am registered for:
- CSci 3113: Intro to programming in C
After learning Perl, it seems easy to pick up a second programming language. It's a night class which does make it hard to sit through
but hey, I'll deal. Comming soon: My own software comany..ok so maybe I don't have the time.
- Econ 1101: Intro to Microeconomics
Well...let's see..it's credits. Actually, it's good taking econ in the
summer..thirty people instead of seven hundred in my lecture!
- Preferences. I like free choice. With that, I must say that I prize personal responsibility. Macintoshes Kick.
PC's have their uses too. 'nuf said about that. Beyond those morsels, I can only say that I evaluate things
as they come my way.
- Distraction. You don't always have to be moved in the same direction. (I rarely stay on one course for longer than a minute!)
I enjoy the outdoors, biking, camping and orienteering. For times like those when I am stuck at school on the South Side
of Chicago, I like to live and breathe Macintosh and all things related. Digital Art is a biggie for me. Outside of my dorm room
I am a fan of ethnic foods, especially Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, and Mexican.
- Plan. An overall, overriding course for my life? At one point I was dead set on going into the Air Force; I love flying. Glasses
changed that whole idea. I stumbled into AP Physics in high school and I found something I really like. That combined with a whole bunch
of other factors led me here, to the University of Chicago. Since I have gotten here, I'm not so sure about
what I'll be doing or where I'll be going. I'm leaning towards Computer Science now, but that is how I feel today. Stay tuned.
The Soul
is my anchor. If my body is what drives me, my soul is what keeps me from going astray. The soul holds whatever it is that
makes us so much more than we ever thought we could be. I dance around defining it only because my soul leads in defying definition.
- Art. I recenter myself through my art. I express myself and get out all that crap that builds up over time. Digital Photography
and image manipulating along with good old b&w-darkroom photography are my main stays.
- The Phrase I live by: "He who laughs at himself never runs out of things to laugh at." (Yes, it was a
fortune cookie!)
- My faith. If ever there were an anchor, a person's faith would be it. Mine isn't common or cookie-cutter; I've struggled
with it for years and I just keep on doing just that now. I won't really get into it because it could well be outdated in an hour.
I'll settle on saying that my faith just is.
Now that you know about The Body-Mind-Soul-Thing, I bid you a good journey to wherever your mouse may take you.

May I suggest that you go off in one of these interesting directions....
First, here's a way to see my progress through the HTML jungle (that is cs101) by looking at my
homework archive otherwise...Maybe I could tempt you with a sampling of my digital artwork?
OR if you're in the mood for a good tirade
and you browse the web enough to be annoyed by some of the designers out there, check out Charles
Poynton's "This site is best experienced ..."
rant. Lastly, I would encourage you to take a moment and catch up on the news of the world (of Macintosh) at
Macweek.com or you could always go the normal route and find out what is going
on in the so-called-real-world through the New York Times Online If you're in the mood for cute, take
a look at one of my favorite cats, Sammy. Or lastly, you could sign My Guestbook
