Dear Bev:

Yesterday afternoon we were cc'd by Jason Teutsch with information regarding a petition and call for special session to address residents' concerns about upcoming tree removals at Villa Mallorca.  Because our employees are likely to be caught in the middle of any resident discontent, we appreciate receiving this important information and would like to address it here.

Due to the obvious volatility surrounding the issue of bird of paradise trunk removals, we feel that this aspect of any tree maintenance we perform should absolutely be delayed or eliminated pending the outcome of meetings and/or hearings to which Mr. Teutsch referred.

Barring any contrary instructions from the Board or Management Company, our plan at this time is to perform only tree pruning which is currently authorized; no removals will be contemplated until the issues are resolved by the Board and Homeowners.

As professional arborists, we advocate for beautiful, healthy trees, and we appreciate the value, both financially and aesthetically, of the plantings throughout the Villas Mallorca community.  We encourage the spirited communication, negotiation, and ultimate agreement regarding any removals that might affect the safety or tranquil appearance of the community.

We enourage you to consult an independent ASCA Consulting Arborist and we would be happy to provide a name to you upon request.

In closing, we at Western Tree Service have appreciated working with this Association and have the best interest of both the residents and the urban forest at heart.  For the sake of your beautiful community, we hope that you are able to amicably resolve this issue in a constructive and positive way.  Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.

Regards,
  Alden
