Kenyon/Exeter Program

The department directs a program of study at the University of Exeter in England for junior majors who qualify for admission. The Kenyon/Exeter Program provides Kenyon students with a unique opportunity to study in England at an excellent British university at the same time that they take courses from a faculty member from Kenyon's English department—courses that are a regular part of the English major. Thus, students are challenged by lectures, seminars and exams under the British University system, and they are advised and taught by an American instructor familiar with their previous academic experiences. The program was founded in 1975, because the English department wanted its students to be educated with British classmates, but also wanted to insure good advice and some certainty of academic continuity. After more than 20 years of growth in the program, Kenyon students continue to find the Kenyon-Exeter experience to be a very rewarding one.
