electrical system has been tampered with. You have seventeen minutes to
find the problem and correct it before the reactor melts down. Pre-Med:

All necessary equipment has been provided. There are two beakers at your

(6) Easy Recipe Weekly: Stewed Pork with si4 xian1 kao3 fu1 This is an
example of using canned food to make an easy dish. The key of such recipes
is to use some fresh ingredients along with the can. Ingredients: [1] Si4
xian1 kao3 fu1: 1 can. You can easily find this can in Chinese grocery
stores. Sometimes, the English name is "assorted vegetables with quail
eggs" (doesn't help much, does it?). The so called four fresh (si4
xian1) are: fried gluten, bamboo shoots, quail eggs and straw-mushroom.
What is missing in such canned food is meat! [2] Pork: 4 oz. [3] Soy sauce,
sugar. Procedure: [a] Clean and cut the pork into small chunks of bite
size. marinate it in soy sauce and a tea spoon of sugar for 20 minutes.
[b] Heat up a wok with 4 tea spoons of cooking oil. Stir fry the pork chunks
for 2 minutes or until the color turns to brown. [c] Pour the contents
in the can into the wok, stir it a little bit so that all ingredients are
blended well. Add two cups of water. [d] When it is boiling again, turn
the heat into medium, just enough to keep it boiling. Cover it up and let
it simmer for 30 minutes. [f] When it is almost done, turn on full heat
and keep it boiling until the juice is reduced to half of what it used
to be. Stir it from time to time to avoid burning on the bottom. Then a
delicious dish is done. You may serve it as a stand-alone dish or serve
it over the rice. It is good for lunch box too. With this experience, you
might have better idea of what you might be able to do with similar canned
food. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
