About Us
We are an interdisciplinary research group of computer scientists, educators, and developers at UC Santa Barbara. Our team brings together faculty and graduate students from both the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Education. Together, we use our discipline knowledge and research practices to develop computer science curriculum and interfaces for elementary school students.
We have developed and continually revise a curriculum for 4th-6th grade students to learn computational thinking. We use this curriculum as a vehicle for studying the deeper question of how young students learn computational thinking, as well as how well our curriculum teaches it.
This project is supported in part by the National Science Foundation Grant #1240985. Additional support provided by the University of California-Santa Barbara.
