Introduction to Automated Modeling with FEniCS is an outgrowth of short courses developed jointly by Ridgway Scott and Patrick Farrell and offered at the University of Chicago, both in Hyde Park and in Paris.

The book was further class tested in longer versions of the course given by Scott at the University of Chicago and Rice University.

These courses, and the book, would not have been possible without the extraordinary contributions of the many members of the FEniCS Project over nearly two decades.
